Do you ever feel like your outfits need updating? Try swapping out your shoes and boots for something new and current. With cooler weather, it’s the perfect time to refresh your shoe-boot wardrobe.
Last week, I went through my closet and found outdated boots that were so tired! I had the boots for years, but now it it was time to refresh, so I went shopping for a few new styles. 🙂 Have you edited your boot collection? I made a list of 3 boot categories and one bonus boot to have in your wardrobe. Take a look and let me know which category you wear most often.
Styling tip: Have your shoes and boots cleaned at the beginning of every season. Many Nordstrom stores have a shoe shine shop.
1. Everyday Boots – Casual & Dressy
I’ve received many requests for versatile, stylish, and comfortable everyday boots to wear with jeans and skirts. My fall go-to styles are perfect for running errands, meeting with friends, going to school, and working. The first boot, the Fahari H20, from Vita Dolce, has a 1.5-inch heel, a smooth black finish, a pointed toe, and a side zip. It’s comfortable, and I wear it day to evening.
Another boot I recently picked up is the Dimes by Madewell in Turkish Coffee. I also love the suede version; it’s so pretty. Brown tones and suede are trending this season, so I think they are worth adding to your wardrobe. I like this boot and am surprised how often I reach for this color! It adds interest to an outfit and is easy to style with neutrals, black, and denim. The Dimes boot has a kitten heel, which is very chic and trending; plus, it’s very comfortable. It runs tts, but I did go up a half-size since I like extra room in my boots.
If you are going for a dressier look, try wearing a boot with a dressier heel, like this one or this one from Veronica Beard, from Stuart Weitzman or from Franco Sarto.
Here are other everyday boot styles that caught my eye and you might like.

I ordered the Quince coat below and am excited to try it. Turtlenecks are popular this time of year; this one is cozy and runs big. I loved this Agolde Harper in a crop version so I thought I’d share a longer length. You can wear an everyday boot with cropped or long jeans.

2. Tall Boots
Tall boots are back, and kitten, block heel, and flat styles are trending. I tried these two block heel styles and found them to be so comfortable. The Sam Edelman Soyer knee-high in black and the 27 Edit Naturalizer Edda in dark brown. Both styles are modern and look nice with skirts and dresses. The Vince Margaret flat boot is classic and so chic. It fits well and is comfortable, too. I just ordered the Anne flat boot by Lauorrode, which I’m looking forward to trying. I plan on wearing them with a pair of narrow jeans tucked into the boot. I’ll give a review once I try them.
Tall Kitten heel boots to try are the J. Crew Stevie, which is a pull-on boot. I had to wiggle a bit to get them on, but they looked great once there. and the Staud Wally, which is a trendy style. The Sylvia by Sam Edelman is a hot boot that fits TTS. You can also try the Croc style by Paris Texas and the Raffaela by Schutz.

3. Chelsea Boots & Rain Boots
A Chelsea-style pull-on boot is perfect for casual cold and wet days. I like the Sam Edelman Laguna which is available in a gorgeous dark brown suede. It’s water-resistant and perfect for casual days. These would make a great holiday gift, too.

Bonus Boot – Over-The-Knee Boots
Many of us love them or can leave over-the-knee boots. Ha! They are trending this season, so If you like them, you are in luck. I like a classic style, like the Stuart Weitzman 50/50 boot or one by Blondo or Sam Edelman. Try wearing them with short knit dresses.
