Nordstrom Rack Finds + Weekly Outfits

This past week, I celebrated my 66th birthday. If you’re a parent or grandparent, you know how special it feels when the little ones are close by. One of my greatest gifts is that my kids live nearby, which means I get to see my grandkids often.

After a birthday dinner with the family, I stayed overnight with my grand twins to have a play date with them. If you’ve ever stayed overnight with little ones, you know the mix—snuggles, giggles, and a little chaos. Thankfully, the twins sleep through the night (something their parents don’t take for granted).

The next morning, I woke up to their happy sounds. It reminded me of when my own kids were small, and maybe you’ve felt it too—that moment when simple, everyday sounds feel like the best gift in the world. It’s a little thing, but it was so special.

Fall Finds at the Rack

On a different note, I also had fun shopping at Nordstrom Rack this past week. I found some great pieces you can wear now and take straight into fall. These are basics that will slide right into your wardrobe, and you will wear them often.

Thinking ahead to cooler days, the Nordstrom cashmere crewneck and cardigans are soft, cozy, and come in many colors. The lightweight trench is available in three shades, including a rich chocolate brown that feels fresh for fall and is an easy layer. The Frame Le Slim Palazzo jeans and Vince boots are elevated pieces at Rack prices—love that. Everything runs true to size, but if you want a trimmer fit in the jeans, I’d suggest sizing down.

I can’t resist stripes, so I had to include this Rag & Bone button-up and cardigan. The button-up runs big, so I sized down—and I’m already wearing it! The cardigan fits true to size and is so pretty. It’s the one you’ll reach for all fall. The Frame Le Slim Palazzo jeans run big too, so I’d size down. They also come in other washes. And lastly, the Veronica Beard suede loafer is timeless and comfortable—I recommend going up a half size.

Outfit Inspiration

Also, I’m sharing outfit inspiration from items I’ve been posting on Instagram. These are transitional looks you can wear now, and when it gets cooler, just add a layer.

Short Sleeve Cardigan Inspo

I just picked up this short-sleeve cardigan, and it’s already a favorite in my wardrobe. I paired it with the popular Paige Anessa jeans and added a fun Veronica Beard scarf. It’s an easy, everyday outfit you can wear around town or to brunch.

Ralph Lauren Dress Inspo

This Ralph Lauren dress has been a favorite. Today I swapped the belt for a cognac one and added matching accessories. I included the Valentino slides—definitely a splurge—but I’ve worn them all summer, and they elevate every look. If you are considering a designer sandal, I recommend this one.

Suede is the trend to grab this fall, and the Madewell bag is perfect. The style, color, and size make it easy to wear every day—whether you’re running errands or heading to lunch, a current bag will pull your look together. I also added a new fragrance I’ve been loving: Hermès Barenia. It smells amazing, and I think you’ll love it too.

Quince Dress Inspo

This Quince dress is a favorite. Today I kept the look neutral and added an oatmeal-colored sweater over the shoulders. Gray, navy, or black are great choices too. I also added a scarf that can be tied around the handbag, wrist, or neck for a pop of color. And I have to mention the Larroude sandals—so comfortable and currently on sale.

Sporty Daytime Inspo

The Paige tie-front Zoey jeans are a perfect style to wear on those days you want to be extra comfortable and still look cute. I think they would make a great travel jean too. I’d wear the tank with the button-up left open as a 3rd piece and the orange cardigan tied around the shoulders or waist. Plus, lower-profile sneakers are trending—this Vince pair is cute, comfortable, and will go with so many outfits.

Day to Evening Inspo

Vests are still trending, and this satin one is so pretty. If you like sleeves, try layering it over a t-shirt now, and when the weather cools, add a lightweight turtleneck underneath. It’s a versatile set you can mix and match with so many other pieces. I finished the outfit with a Freja bag from New York.
