Paris Shopping + Fall Finds

shopping in paris

My favorite shops in Paris, the fall pieces I brought home, and the ones I’m still eyeing for the season.

I just got back from a 15-day trip that included two countries—Paris and Italy—and my daughter’s wedding. It was a trip I’ll never forget! In Paris, we visited the Dior exhibit and other landmarks, spent time people-watching, and sipped coffee and rosé at sidewalk cafés. We did plenty of shopping too, and I’ll share my favorite shops below, along with the fall items I brought home and the pieces I’m eyeing for the season. I took a little break from blog posts so I could soak up every minute—but now I’m back with fresh inspiration to share!

Street Style From the Sidewalk

People-watching while having coffee or a glass of rosé at the cafés, sitting out on the sidewalks and terraces, is one of my favorite things to do in Paris. I love seeing how Parisians dress for everyday life.

What stood out most was how many Parisians wore jeans—especially wide-leg styles (petite)—styled in that effortless, chic way. Trench coats, sneakers, white sneakers, crossbody bags, totes, and especially scarves were everywhere. Scarves added the perfect pop of color to mostly neutral outfits, tied around the neck, tucked into pockets, or knotted onto handbags. There were plenty of designer brands, but from my spot at the cafés, everyday Paris street style was more about well-chosen basics styled beautifully.

Shops I Loved in Paris

Astier de Villatte was such a beautiful shop filled with white porcelain dishes and ceramics that felt timeless and elegant. Marin Montagut was another delightful stop, full of whimsical gifts and charming finds. It was such a fun store to explore.

One of my favorite experiences was visiting Crimson Cashmere, owned by Linda Wright. Linda is someone I’ve followed on Instagram for a long time, and I’ll admit—I had a total fangirl moment meeting her. Linda is lovely, with a beautiful shop filled with cashmere, silk pants, scarves, and a few items for men as well. We had so much fun shopping with her and the sales staff.

What I Brought Home

I love shopping French brands like Sézane, Ba&sh, and Maje, so I was excited to visit their stores in Paris. Since the first part of our trip was chilly, I picked up a few staples from Sézane that I wore right away—a Clyde trench coat, a Christy blazer, and the Will suede jacket. All timeless, all in size 34, and pieces I’ll wear on repeat this fall.

I also brought home the Ba&sh Gaspard cardigan, a top seller and a beautiful cardigan/lady jacket for fall. I chose the brown and highly recommend it. It runs trim, so I suggest sizing up. From Maje, I couldn’t resist the check jacket—it was in every store window and felt like their jacket of the season. It fits true to size, and I’m wearing a 34.

What I’m Eyeing for Fall

With brown trending this season, I’m eyeing jackets in rich shades—like a classic style from J.Crew and a suede version from Madewell. I’m also looking at ballet flats from Madewell. Suede loafers are another must-have this fall. I found three great pairs that are comfortable —styles from Madewell, Sam Edelman, and Veronica Beard (size up a half in the VB pair).

Casual tops for off days are on my list, too. I like this one from J.Crew, and I just picked up a striped version from Madewell. And finally, I’m loving this Barbour sweater for the season—it’s the kind of piece you’ll wear again and again all fall.
