I’ve officially put my sandals away and started thinking about fall shoes. I’ve been studying trends, seeing what feels fresh for the season, and narrowing down the styles worth adding to your wardrobe.
This fall, I’m loving suede, rich shades of brown, croc-embossed textures, slingbacks, mules, kitten heels, and, of course, low-profile sneakers. Shoes are one of my favorite ways to make a wardrobe feel new for the season, and there are so many good options right now.
I’ve rounded up my favorites below—from everyday shoes to styles that feel a little more special. If your fall shoe wardrobe needs an update, I’d start here.

Staud Wally Boots | Sam Edelman Kasey Flat | Marc Fisher Janie Mule | Dolce Vita Hilah Wedge | Sam Edelman Netty Slingback | Adidas Tokyo | Veronica Beard Valentina | Nordstrom Lennon Loafer
Suede is everywhere this fall, especially in rich shades of brown—from sneakers and loafers to mules and boots. I love the texture it adds to an outfit and how easily it makes pieces you already own feel more like fall.

Loafers
Loafers are one of my favorite shoes. I have this pair from Sam Edelman and the Gucci loafers in black—both are comfortable and chic. The Rag & Bone Carter is another favorite; I have it in white. I also like this pair from Reformation for fall.
Slingbacks
I love a slingback with dresses, jeans, and trousers. Try the Sam Edelman pair if you like a lower heel, or this style—it’s a favorite of mine, so comfortable- or this one here. And I’m dreaming about this pair.
Mules
I love a shoe I can just slide into, so mules are always a favorite. I like the Marc Fisher and Vince styles. If you like a wedge, the Dolce Vita mule is really pretty. I also love the Clara mule from Margaux, or this similar style from Steve Madden.
