I love this time of year—the weather in Seattle is beautiful, and I’m soaking up the sunshine. I’m still enjoying summer clothes, but I can’t help but get excited for fall fashion. I’ve started looking for transitional and end-of-summer styles I can wear now and wear into fall. Below, I’ve included some August inspiration, including red, the trending color for fall, and black and ecru for end-of-summer inspiration.

August Inspo

I guess I do love stripes—I’ve included three different styles below! If you usually stick to solid colors but want to add a bit of neutral pattern, consider mixing in some stripes. And don’t forget about leopard print, which is trending this season. You’ll see a lot of it, and it’s a fun way to spice up your wardrobe!

August inspiration

Black and White Dotted Swiss Top: This sweet, airy top is perfect for wearing from day to evening. I’m always looking for tops with sleeves and this is a nice one.

Stripe Sleeveless Mock Neck: This soft rib-knit mock turtleneck is perfect to wear with all your jeans now and through the fall. It looks great on its own or layered under a cardigan, blazer, or bomber jacket.

Stripe Cardigan: A striped cardigan adds a lot of interest to any outfit. Shopping for clothes on Amazon is new to me, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this piece—it’s also available in multiple colors. You might also like this one or this one here.

Mila Lady Cardigan: This darling cardigan is one you’ll find yourself reaching for often. The knit is soft, and the buttons add an elegant touch. I like the stripe version, too.

Madewell Easy Y Stripe Button Up:  An easy Y-neckline makes this striped button-up great to wear on its own or layered over a tank.

More Inspo

Mozart Waffle Tank: This waffle print tank is perfect to wear now and into fall with jeans or trousers. You can also style it as a vest and layer it over a t-shirt or button-up for another look.

Frame Gillian Leopard Print Top: This blouse is a favorite style to wear under cardigans and blazers. Plus, with leopard trending, it’s a chic way to add a neutral print to your wardrobe. Perfect to wear now and later!

Dawson Blazer: This stretchy blazer includes a striped hooded removable dickey for a fun twist to a blazer. Or, you might like the Veronica Beard Miller Blazer and dickey.

Paige Anessa Jeans: Soft, comfy, and stylish – 26″ inseam; 22″ leg opening; 11 1/4″ front rise.

Marilyn Cap Toe Ballet Flat: I love the cap toe and stitching on this ballet flat, which gives it a designer feel. Plus, it’s so comfortable and versatile.

Paige Anessa Tonal Ecru Jeans: This tonal ecru color is a great transitional pair of jeans for fall—32″ inseam, 24″ leg opening, 12″ front rise.

Barrel Jeans – A New Style To Try

If you want end-of-the-summer inspiration, try barrel jeans. The style below from Everlane is a great choice and comes in many colors, plus it’s a fun style to add to your wardrobe. Make sure you size down. Also, I tried the popular Madewell Barrel cut jeans. It’s a nice style but runs big, so size down. If you like barrel jeans, You might also like this style from Nili Lotan.
