While I’ve always had a soft spot for holiday plaids, and I love traditional red and green sweaters, there’s something elegant about wearing black and metallic outfits during the holiday season. Also, I tend to gravitate towards black outfits; maybe you do, too! So, today I’ve created outfits on style boards using black, metallic, plus I added some sequins and feathers for texture. There are many sale items sprinkled throughout the blog post, plus I added necklaces by Gigi Clozeau that I have my eye on. Let me know what you think!

Little Black Dress + Lady Jacket
Let’s start with a LBD. You can’t go wrong with a classic little black dress and then add some metallics for a holiday party. It’s an item you can easily dress up or down. I wear the Vince satin slip dress, but for a wider strap and bra-friendly style, try this dress by J.Crew. Wear a lady jacket over your shoulders, like a cropped sequin or metallic style pictured below. Or wear your favorite blazer. I also recommend wearing the Wacoal Strapless Red Carpet bra with this dress. It stays in place and is very comfortable.

Here are a few other options.
Beautiful Tops + Trousers or Jeans + Statement Coat
Wearing an ecru or gold top is an easy way to dress up an outfit. Style them with black jeans, faux leather pants, or a skirt. Then, add a fun metallic shoe, and you will be ready for a holiday gathering. I’ve tried both tops, and they run tts. The J.Crew pants run big, and the Paige Claudine jeans run tts, as do the shoes. Plus, the slingbacks are comfortable! I love coats; a beautiful statement coat or jacket can elevate any outfit. Even when I wear leggings or jeans, I feel put together and polished when I wear a wool coat over my outfit.

7. Accessorize with Festive Details
Wearing accessories will add a festive touch to your outfits. I love styling monochromatic outfits, and by adding a sparkly clutch, statement earrings, or metallic shoes, a monochromatic look can turn into a chic, festive look.

Sale alert
J.Crew is having their end of the season cashmere sale with my favorite sweater on sale here, plus they have cashmere scarves, gloves and socks on sale too.
Saks has good sales going on too. I tried this button up on in Dallas and it’s so cute and runs a little big.
Evereve always has good sales. I’m wearing this sweater by Pistola in my cover photo. It’s a nice everyday sweater to wear with jeans. You know I love stripes and I’m thinking about ordering this turtleneck. Plus, this would be a fun longline sweater jacket (shacket) to wear with jeans. Have fun shopping!

I hope you have fun with your friends and family during the holidays and that you look and feel confident in your festive outfits.
