As a stylist, I often find the one item in every client’s closet is the white t-shirt. While it’s not always the most exciting, it is a classic.
If you’ve followed me for a while or I’ve helped you in the Celine dressing room at the Nordstrom Flagship, you know I always have a fresh white ATM t-shirt waiting for you or ready to order. The price is slightly higher than your average t-shirt, but I promise you, it’s worth it.
The style I recommend is the crew neck. The short sleeve length flatters arms and the slightly boxy fit is forgiving on most body types. Lastly, it’s made of slubbed cotton jersey, which gives the shirt a burned-out look that makes a basic white tee a bit more interesting. You may style a t-shirt in different ways to wear from day to evening.
Wear with denim
This is a classic style that looks chic and polished on everyone who wears it. I like to compliment my shirt by adding a necklace stack. I wear two gold necklaces every day and add a statement necklace to compliment the other two for added drama and dimension.

Wear under a blazer
Whether you are heading out during the daytime or evening, a white t-shirt under a blazer or statement cardigan takes your look to the next level.

Below is a fashionable look for the office, lunch date, or shopping with friends. I’m thinking outside the box, and away from the usual denim I wear and trying a new look. I’ve never worn shorts to work, but these shorts by ‘Pleats Please’ are forgiving, and feel like I’m wearing a skirt(email for more information about the shorts). Try something new; you might find that you like the look!

Layer under a slip dress
Sometimes l don’t like going sleeveless, so I layer a t-shirt under my slipdress to provide extra arm coverage. Give it a try, I think you will like styling the dress this way.

For all the reasons I’ve listed above, a white t-shirt is the perfect top to add to your suitcase for a weekend away or a more extended excursion. You can create endless outfits with a simple white tee and is a great way to mix and match different looks while on vacation.
