Lately, I’ve had a lot of fun styling outfits for my IG reels. If you missed my most recent reel featuring denim-on-denim, you can watch it here. So, I started thinking about how I create outfits in my closet. All it takes is a few simple steps! To get started, think about organizing your closet into categories. This will make it easier to see what you have and help you mix and match pieces.
1. Tops
Start with tops – a few basic colors like black and white, a pretty pop of color, and also make sure you add a stripe or print for added interest. Organize them together in your closet by color, so you can see what you have to work with. Here are some a few classic tops that are versatile to wear day to evening. I added a few fun prints too.
2. Bottoms
Next are bottoms. Again, having a few different styles and colors is essential to add variety to your wardrobe. Spring fashion is all about white and light color denim so I’ve included a few options.
3. Jackets
Finally, don’t forget about jackets – they’re my personal favorite! While I was styling customers in the store, many of them would laugh because they always left their appointment with a new jacket or blazer! But, having a variety of jackets, or the 3rd piece as many stylists call it, will complete your looks and take your outfits to the next level.
Outfit Ideas
Take one item from each category pictured above and combine them to create an outfit. Mixing and matching outfits will be easy if you have colors complimenting each other. Also, don’t forget to add great shoes and accessories, which I will address in a future blog post. I love putting together outfits, so I’ve put a few looks together using some of the items from above. Note: The Naghedi tote is unavailable in ecru, but I’ve linked other colors.
