It’s all about the denim: 5 styles and how to wear them!

Denim is a must-have item in my wardrobe; I’m sure for you too. As we get closer to fall, I wanted to share five denim styles that caught my attention for fall. I’m sure you are familiar with some of these, but since we wear denim often, consider adding or updating a few new styles and washes to keep things versatile. Plus, I know you are all familiar with skinny jeans, which are not trending, so I’ll pass on them for now. But if you enjoy wearing skinny jeans and they work for you, go for it!:)

1. Straight-Leg

Straight-leg jeans are timeless, classic denim that never goes out of style and a style you can always count on. Wear with a t-shirt, button-up, or sweater; It’s a perfect style to wear dressed up with heels or casually with sneakers like this or this or loafers. Other Straight-leg styles I recommend are here, here and here.

2. Wide-Leg Jeans

Wide-leg jeans are trending this fall and are a stylish addition to your denim wardrobe. Recently, I tried a pair of Spanx wide-leg jeans, and I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable their pull-on denim is. Plus, all sizes are available, from petite to regular to tall. I went with the petite length as I’m 5’2, but I plan to hem them an inch for just-the-right length. I have a few other wide-leg jeans I recommend, like the Kelli by Fidelity and the Mother Hustler Roller. These are best worn with heels or boots to give your leg extra length. Also, if you like cropped wide-leg jeans, the Paige Anessa or the Mother Hustler Roller Cropped jeans are excellent options. Wear flats, loafers, boots, or heels with this style.

3. Flare Jeans

Flare jeans are a style you want in your denim collection. Check out the long line flare in the photo – it’s a total must-try. This style is perfect for a polished office look and a chic evening out. Go for the Paige Claudine cropped flare if you like something fun and flirty. It’s versatile and easily paired with sneakers, heels, or boots. My daughter, Lauren is wearing  wide-leg(similar)  jeans that look amazing on her. 🙂

4. Boyfriend Jeans

When boyfriend jeans come to mind, I picture something baggy, comfortably roomy, and perhaps a bit rugged with a few knee rips. But they are also available in a slouchy slimmer cut, like the style pictured below. This look is relaxed, laid-back, and comfortable. Wear them with sneakers, heels, or even ballet flats – the choice is yours!

5. Bootcut Jeans

Boot-cut jeans are a familiar and well-loved style many of us have in our wardrobes. The AG Farrah pictured below is a style that fits most women and is available in other washes too. Plus, I have to mention the Mother Hustler, one of my favorite boot-cut styles. There are many washes like this one here, here, or here.

  1. Love the Abercrombie straight jeans that you are wearing but the link is not working. Do you have a link you could share?

  2. Thank you for the excellent outline on Jean styles for Fall 2023.
I once read on So Susie’ that you are a master at mixing jewelry. I have lots of older Sterling chains in differing lengths and I would LOVE some tips on how to blend them in with newer pieces in more current styles. Would you ever consider a post on this topic? (I hope so!) If not, maybe you could point me in a direction of a blogger who specializes in Jewelry. I need help!

    • Oh, I’d love to write about mixing jewelry. I’ll put it on the calendar. Thank you for the suggestion.
