Do you have plans for Memorial Day weekend? For my family, it marks the opening day of pool season! So, we are working hard to get everything ready to enjoy the pool for the summer. I always like to order fluffy pool towels and I ordered new floating noodles for the neighbor kids. I also want to have a couple of new serving platters for snacks and salads and non-breakable glasses for around the pool. One recipe I always make for the weekend is green bean and feta cheese salad. If you want to give it a try, I’ve included the recipe at the end of this post.
So, what fun activities do you have planned for Memorial Day weekend and the summer? Are you going to the beach or staying by the pool, having a barbecue, going wine tasting, or playing pickleball or golf? Below are some great outfit ideas to get you ready for your fun events.

Summer is all about wearing white, and that includes white jeans! The jeans pictured above are Paige Anessa crop wide-leg jeans, and are very comfy and versatile. I also recommend the Mother Hustler or the J.Crew Demi bootcut flare for a straighter style. I wear these styles, and I know they all fit well.
To create great summer outfits you always need a few good basics on hand. So, I suggest you always have a fresh white T-shirt (or this one or this one )and neutral color tank tops on hand in your closet. You can wear these basics alone for a relaxed and effortless look or if the weather is still cool, layer them under fun sweaters(this one or this one), oversized blouses (or like this) or jackets (or like this or this ).
I feel all tops look better when styled with white jeans! So try adding a fresh new top to brighten up your holiday outfits like these styles.
Are you looking to take your white denim outfit to the next level? Investing in some designer pieces, like a designer tote and sunglasses, is a great way to elevate your wardrobe. Whether you prefer mid-range options or want to splurge on high-end, there’s something for everyone. Also, don’t forget to explore emerging designers, like Cult Gaia, as they offer unique designs at accessible prices.

I love wearing casual and carefree dresses in the summer. It makes me feel like I’m always on vacation. How about you?So many dresses are available, so I’m highlighting three styles: t-shirts, layered or tiered, and shirt dresses. So, take a look, pick a favorite, and enjoy feeling carefree this summer. Don’t forget to add a great sandal too.

Sporty Outfits – Tennis and Pickleball
Do you play tennis, or have you ever tried playing pickleball? Here’s a fun fact: did you know pickleball was invented on Bainbridge Island, just outside Seattle? Tennis and pickleball outfits are one of the hottest trends on and off the courts. So whether you’re into these sports or not, you can still wear the look! Here are a few sporty looks I found. Plus, you might need to get paddles. I ordered pickleball paddles and a new skirt (try this one if you like a longer skirt), tank and this top too. I’m just starting to play pickleball and will update you on my progress later this summer. 🙂

Here’s a delicious green bean & feta salad recipe I make every Memorial Day and throughout the summer. It’s an older recipe but a crowd pleaser! Credit goes to the Simply Classic cookbook, Junior League of Seattle.
Green Bean & Feta Salad- From Simply Classic Cookbook
1 1/2 pounds fresh green beans
1/2 cup red onion, finely chopped
1/2 cup feta cheese
1/2 cup walnuts, toasted and chopped
1 tablespoon lemon juice, freshly squeezed
1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1/4 teaspoon dried basil, crumpled ( I chop some fresh basil for garnish)
1/4 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/3 cup olive oil
Plunge beans into a large pot of rapidly boiling water. Cook for five minutes, or until just tender-crisp. Meanwhile, prepare a large bowl of ice water. Drain beans and plunge into ice water until cool. Drain and pat dry.
For vinaigrette: combine lemon juice, vinegar, mustard, basil, sugar, salt and pepper in a small bowl. Slowly whisk in olive oil. Wisk until thickened and thoroughly blended.
Toss beans and vinaigrette. Place on beans on a serving platter, tops with red onions, feta and toasted walnuts. Serve immediately or chill for several hours. Garnish with fresh basil.
