5 Ways to Layer for Fall!

Last week the Seattle sun briefly came back for a few days, and we had some beautiful weather. This transitional period going from summer to fall can be a tricky time to get dressed, as it’s chilly in the morning and warmer during the day. That’s why layering for fall can be challenging for many of us. Not to worry, I’ve got you covered! I like to layer my clothing so I can peel off the layers as my internal temperature rises without losing my style! Maybe you have experienced the same.

Many followers have asked me to highlight casual looks to wear at home, so today I am highlighting casual layering Here are a few looks!

Capes and Oversize Scarves

Oversize scarves and capes are trending this season. I think they are optimal layering pieces for now, when the weather is not too cold, and when temperatures drop further along in the season too. I also like to wear oversized scarves inside at work or when I am out with friends. It’s a comfortable yet chic accessory to add color, print, and texture to a solid color turtleneck, sweater, or blouse.

I adore this cape by Rag and Bone. It was a splurge accessory but I know I will wear it often and I think you would too.  Made of 70% recycled cashmere and 30% cashmere it has a very soft and luxurious hand and is available in 3 colors. I think this is a fun and chic layering piece to add to your wardrobe.

Add a scarf with a trending color like the pink and black one by Balenciaga. It is a beautiful piece and a showstopper.

Vests

Vests are trending this fall, and you will see them throughout social media. I’ve included a fun cashmere vest by Nordstrom that can be worn loose or belted. Try layering  it over a long blouse or turtleneck.

Don’t forget the puffer vest. Here I am wearing a Moncler vest worn over a Burberry sweater. Practical yet chic for home or going to the market.

Lastly, I want to include the cardigan. If you don’t own a cardigan, now is the time to get one. They are perfect to wear at any time and during every season. I own several different cardigans, in various weights and colors, and wear them often. Below are a couple of my favorites right now.
