Try This Outfit Formula – It Works Every Time!

Hi there, I hope you’ve had a nice week. I had a busy one, and it went by so quickly! When I have busy weeks, I plan my outfits the night before using an outfit formula that always works: a spring top, jeans, a blazer or third piece, a favorite shoe, and a handbag. I carry a tote that holds my computer, too. Here’s a look at some of the outfits I wore this week using this easy outfit formula.

1. WFH – Errands

This outfit is a go-to look when I work from home and run errands. I love this Frame Split front top – it’s a staple in my wardrobe and I wear it often. The Rag & Bone Peyton jeans and loafers are also well-loved and worn regularly. As for the blazer, it’s a linen blend from J.Crew that I picked up last year. While it’s no longer available, I’ve linked a similar style that is a bestseller. My laptop fits inside the Naghedi tote, plus items I pick up when shopping. It stretches, and the handles easily fit over my shoulder. I can easily say, it’s one of my favorite bags.

Here are other tops I like to wear under blazers. Several are on sale, too.

2. Working and Meeting a Friend

The Coralee top is a great piece to wear with jeans, trousers, or a skirt. It’s from a past  N6 Drop collection and is a staple in my wardrobe. Plus, it’s available in many colors. I’m also wearing the Frame Le Slim Palazzo Jean. For great-fitting flare jeans, try the Mother Weekender flare. It’s also available in Petites (Lil Weekender Flare), which you can see me wearing here. They are so comfortable and flattering!

Additional Options – Jeans

These are other denim options to rotate into an easy outfit formula. When I look for jeans, I choose brands that I know will fit 9 out of 10 women, look nice on the backside, and you will want to wear often. I’ve tried all these jeans, and they run true to size except for the Rails Getty, which runs big, and you should size down.

3. Shopping and IG Live at Nordstrom

I’m wearing a short-sleeved linen top from J.Crew. As for the Juliette cardigan, it’s a wardrobe staple for me – perfect as a third piece or lightweight coat. I recommend sizing down as it runs big. The Madewell jeans fit true to size and are comfortable. I love the cognac-colored shoes and belt, which complement my Demellire handbag.  Demellire is a new brand for me, and I’m impressed with the style and quality of this bag and their other available styles.

Additional Options – 3rd Piece

Adding a third piece to my outfits has become second nature to me. It all started during my styling days at Nordstrom – we lived by the rule of always including that extra layer to complete a look. Here are a few more options to complete an easy outfit formula. I’ve tried on all of the jackets below, and they fit tts, except for the Treasure & Bond Utility jacket and the Open Edit blazer; they run big, so size down.

Additional Options – Shoes and Handbags

Don’t you love shoes and handbags? They’re so fun to try on and add interest to any outfit. Here’s a selection of trending shoes and bags for spring that have caught my eye!
