Move aside joggers, hello summer skirts!

Like some people in retail, I recently returned to work after 14 weeks of sheltering at home for the stay-at-home order. That much time at home naturally led to a daily uniform of jogger pants and leggings plus fuzzy slippers and lots of coffee. Don’t get me wrong, I love wearing loungewear at home, but I had to get my head wrapped around dressing up again for the workplace. At work, I want to look polished and put together, but don’t want to sacrifice comfort. I want pieces that are easy to throw on and rush out the door plus give me an effortless style I love for summertime. If you’re transitioning back to your work wardrobe like me, you’ll love the ease of a flowy, summer skirt.

Skirts are the perfect option for work or play because of how easy they are to style. Plus, in my opinion, styled correctly, you can achieve that “cool girl” street style vibe.  When dressed up with a blouse and heels, the right skirt can elevate an outfit and make you feel polished, intentional, and put together all while being effortlessly chic! Take that same skirt and pair it with a t-shirt, sneakers, or sandals, and you are ready for brunch, wine tasting, or more realistically, working from home.

Now for a couple of additional favorites!

Monochromatic looks are one of my favorite combinations, and this skirt does not disappoint. In a few weeks, I’m going wine tasting, and this will be the perfect skirt to pack. I can wear it as pictured for daytime, or swap out the top with a beautiful blouse and a strappy heel for evening. Either way, my outfit won’t be lacking in style or comfort.

Try adding a colorful top, shoe, or handbag to give the outfit a pop!

For a more boho summer look,  I threw on this ruffle sleeve top and floral skirt as the main attractions. I feel comfortable and ready to go to the farmers market or grab a bite with friends.  I typically wear updated classic clothing, but I’ve enjoyed the feminine touch of this look and am happy I can enjoy it for the summer.
