Warm weather has arrived in the Pacific Northwest, and many of us are anticipating sunny vacations and long days lounging by the pool. To prep for these activities, a swimsuit and accessories refresh is in order. I’ve picked out a few of my favorite suits, coverups, sunnies, and skin products that will take you from vacationing this spring through the summer months.
Swimsuit: This black and white suit below is a nod to the cut-out trend. It’s comfortable, romantic, and covers the backside.
Wide Brim Hat: When I’m out in the sun, I always wear a hat with a large brim; this one adds a pop of color to my look and fits the bill.
Coverup: I have worn this coverup many times to the beach, pool, and lunch. It’s classic, versatile, and chic.
Tote: I love this whimsical beach tote by Marimekko, the Finnish brand’s famed poppy.
Sunglasses: Lastly, sunglasses are an accessory that will elevate your look. Stylist tip: always carry your sunglasses in their proper case, so you don’t lose track of them or bend the frame. You will wear them for years.
A Few More Tote Bags
Step out in style in a red one-piece swimsuit. I like the flattering ruching at the hip and the crisscrossed gathered neckline. Try a “3rd” piece and cover up in a versatile sarong. Tie at the hip or knot at the bustline for more coverage. The Valentino flip-flops elevate the overall look. They are classic, and I’ve been wearing mine for years.
A Few More Sunglasses
Below are a few additional sunglasses that are perfect for spring and summer.
If you have a long waist, a two-piece suit might be a better fit for you than a 1-piece. Plus, it’s nice to be able to mix and match pieces and create multiple looks. Note: the blue bikini in the style board is reversible. The “3rd” piece coverup is the Tommy Bahama oversized blouse. Styling tip: try tieing the blouse at the waist and wear with shorts.
Everyone needs a towel for the pool and the beach. No worries, I’ve got you covered.
Thank you for reading. Enjoy your time in the sun!
